Dad is watching series six of Spooks which is showing on the ABC right now, and I was sitting on the couch browsing Tumblr when suddenly, all of the Ros meta.
Oh no.
It’s been too many hours since I gazed upon her magnificence. “Silly old you.”
Oh, Ros.
“You’re looking in a mirror.”
That showdown between Connie and Ros. My God, series seven was SO GOOD.
“I lost someone recently. A colleague. I had to make a choice to let her die and if I’m honest, I think it’s affected my judgement. My boss thinks I’ve got this psychological displacement thing going on. He thinks that I think if I save Baisely, somehow I’ll be saving her. He thinks that I equate Baisely with her which is odd, ‘cause they’re nothing alike. I think I see her as an innocent. Caught up in events she really shouldn’t have been caught up in. Which is odd. Makes you wonder how I see myself.”
Season eight is amazing for the Ros-related storylines that emerge. Up until the final seconds of 8x08, anyway. Jack Colville! Jo Portman! Oh, man. It’s so good. I think this episode really made it clear for me that one of the things that I find most interesting about her is that she’s the complete opposite to her predecessor (and lover) Adam. Adam’s wife was shot and he self-destructed in almost every way conceivable, wallowing in self-pity for two seasons straight; Ros made the choice to kill Jo to save everyone in that building and she just keeps on going - ruthless and competent as ever. That level of self-awareness? HOW DOES SHE DO IT? She is insane. And yet one of the most rational, reasoned characters ever to work in the Grid. I love it.
| Ros: | Have you seen Harry’s mood recently? He’d see protecting Bibi as a luxury the nation can’t afford right now. |
| Lucas: | Ros. Harry’s always troubled. He chooses his frown with his tie in the morning. |
